Parcel – Kinaxis’ in-house design system for RapidResponse, created to unify UI components, maintain design consistency across products, and make it easier for teams to build user-friendly interfaces efficiently.

As Kinaxis transitioned RapidResponse from its legacy Java client to a web-based platform, the project introduced entirely new user experiences. This shift created the perfect opportunity to develop Parcel, a design system focused on reducing bugs, simplifying development, and creating a consistent, modern interface.

By standardizing components and patterns, Parcel enabled designers and developers to work more efficiently and deliver a seamless user experience across the platform.

As RapidResponse transitioned from a legacy Java client to a web-based platform, Parcel served as the foundation for a consistent, modern interface.

The design system was expanded to increase its component library and support teams across the platform.

The style guide was updated with new components, states, and usage guidelines, providing clear instructions that helped teams implement components correctly and maintain a unified user experience.

Close collaboration with developers ensured that new components were functional, reliable, and aligned with design standards.

This approach improved handoff and reduced errors during implementation.

Parcel now supports the main web client, machine learning applications, integration mini-apps, and visualizations. The expanded system maintained consistency across all products and teams.
